Cycling Health is a group set up in 2003 by Graeme Trass, Dr Dan Keown and others.

We need motivated people to help us improve cycling safety by removing the misguided helmet law.

Currently membership is informal, so there are no fees. We are registering as an incorporated group.

Cycling Health is not opposed to the use of helmets, but merely to the element of compulsion. Our position is that individuals should have the right to choose whether or not to use a helmet, without interference by Governments. We believe that the role of Government should be limited to advising the public, without bias, of the pros and cons of helmet use.

Cycling Health promotes safe cycling and cyclists’ rights.

Consequently one goal is the removal of the compulsory bicycle helmet law.
